Join us on Zoom, February 2nd, 6-7pm
We have another interesting free Parent Talk opportunity for you, this February 2nd from 6-7pm on Zoom, on what our kids will learn about Black History next month from a visiting guest presenter to the school. Registration link at bottom.
In honour of Black History Month this February, the School is hosting Giselle Clarke-Trenaman from Presentation House & Green Thumb Theatre, to present a series of 1-hour sessions with each of the grades, entitled "Black History Matters". Much appreciation to our School Admin for recognizing the importance of Black History being included in the curriculum.
In advance of Giselle being in our kids' classrooms, PAC's Tigers Anti Oppression Working Group is hosting a free ZOOM parent talk with Giselle on February 2nd 6-7pm for any parents that are curious about the content of the material that will be presented for each of the grade levels.
Please see the Registration link at bottom.
After Giselle's presentation, we can ask any questions we might have. Perhaps this parent talk will stimulate conversations we as parents and caregivers may have at home with our kids about Black history and the need for equality today and moving forward.
About the Black History Matters program:
Black History Matters is a thorough and grade appropriate program highlighting the history, lives and contributions of Black Canadians to our country and the world... Presenters visit your classroom to explore Black Canadian History with the students. Sharing this essential part of Canadian history with young students allows them to connect and question not only the past but the present and their futures.
